There are numerous opportunities to lead and serve within Phi Mu. We want you to be prepared for them all. We use events, chapter programming, online systems such as our Leadership Center and alumnae-led mentoring to help you along the way.
Phi Mu UIFI
Phi Mu UIFI is leadership program taking place in the summer of 2011 in Bloomington, Ind. Developed by the North-American Intefraternity Conference (NIC), UIFI has been the premier personal and leadership development epxerience for undergraduate members of sororites and fraternities for over 20 years. Phi Mu will be the first inter/national Greek organization to host an Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute (UIFI) specific to its organization. During this five day program, collegiate presidents and an emerging leader from each chapter will participate in faciliated large-group discussions on topics such as ritual, values-based learning, the Greek communty and teamwork. These sessions are led by Phi Mu volunteers, fraternity/sorority alumni/ae who work as Greek advisors and leading experts in the interfraternal world. Participants leave with a plan of action for creating positive change within their chapters!
Regional Officer Training
There are at least twelve opportunities to gain leadership experience as an executive committee member or committee chair within a Phi Mu chapter. We make sure that members are ready for the challenge. Phi Mu area officers and chapter consultants train over 1,000 chapter leaders at regional officer trainings each year. It prepares them for the role they'll play within the chapter. At these events, executive committee members receive important information regarding their specific positions. It's also a great time to connect with collegiate officers from neighboring chapters. The opportunities for enrichment are virtually endless. The connections will last a lifetime.
national convention
Phi Mu also holds a national convention every two years. The event is equal parts celebration and inspiration. It's an opportunity for collegiate and alumnae members to participate in training workshops and to network with Phi Mus from across the country. You'll want to be part of it. Each attendee finds this to be a time of renewal and a wonderful opportunity to gain a deeper appreciation for our sorority. The 2012 National Convention will take place July 4-7 in San Antonio, Texas. For more information, visit the 2012 National Convention website.
phi Mu Days
Phi Mu Days are held annually throughout the United States. They are a great time for seniors to network, alumnae chapters to gain new members and for all Phi Mus to celebrate their history. There are ceremonies, speakers and time for celebrating our great sisterhood. Remember, Phi Mu is for a lifetime. Check the calendar for upcoming Phi Mu Day events.
