Was there an adviser or alumna who made a difference to you in your life as a collegian? There are many opportunities for alumnae to serve as role models and mentors to today’s college women. Click here to locate the nearest Phi Mu chapter.
As collegians we made a lifetime commitment to Phi Mu. There is no better way to fulfill this promise than by giving back to our Fraternity. Whether you can give a little or a lot of time, the contribution of your talents and life experiences can enrich the lives of our collegiate and alumnae members. Opportunities can include participating as a team member on a one-time project, serving as a collegiate chapter adviser or an alumnae chapter officer and being appointed as an area or national officer.
All collegiate chapters have an advisory council composed of volunteer alumnae. Members of the advisory council are partnered with individual chapter officers and guide them in areas such as chapter operations, scholarship, new member development, membership recruitment, finance and sisterhood development. The advisers help the collegians with goal setting, time management and organization. Advisory council positions vary greatly and can accommodate alumnae who are not within driving distance of the chapter or who have limited time available to help.
Phi Mu has over 125 volunteer area and national officers who work directly with our collegiate and alumnae chapters. We are always seeking qualified alumnae to serve in a wide variety of areas to assure the growth and stability of the Fraternity. The choices for volunteer work on the national level are varied and one is sure to find an area that is interesting, challenging and rewarding.
Do you wish Phi Mu were on a campus near you? Perhaps you work on campus or have heard about an extension opportunity via family or friends. If so, please contact our Director of Extension at firstname.lastname@example.org or 770-632-2090. Alumnae play a major role in starting new Phi Mu chapters and we would love to have you involved in helping us grow Phi Mu.
Phi Mu chapters host guest speakers in a variety of areas to enhance their chapter development programming. Topics include health and fitness, financial responsibility and leadership development. If you have educational experience or expertise in a relevant field, our collegians could benefit from your knowledge. If you have a programming idea that you’d like to share with our chapters, please contact the Director of Leadership and Curriculum Development at email@example.com.
Helping collegians to manage their chapter houses, where applicable, is an area where alumnae assistance and involvement is greatly needed. If you have finance, real estate, management or interior design experience you are the ideal candidate to serve on a house corporation board. Board members work with collegiate presidents, treasurers and house managers to ensure Phi Mu houses and other residences are cared for and maintained
